Photo & Copyright Policy

This site is built around practical itinerary information, not borrowed photography. This page explains how photos and other media are sourced and credited.

Our approach

• We prefer to use our own practical photos taken while researching each itinerary.
• Official tourism media libraries are only used when their terms explicitly allow it, and only for the specific use described in those terms.
• Whenever official or third-party media is used, we log the source URL, license terms, date accessed, and required credit line.
• We ask permission before reposting any hotel or attraction’s own photos, rather than assuming reuse is allowed.
• Where possible, we link to an official gallery instead of downloading and rehosting images ourselves.

These are official channels we may reference or link to for tourism-board photography, subject to their own terms of use:

• Japan Photo and Video Library — Japan National Tourism Organization’s official media library.
• GO TOKYO Travel Trade & Press — Tokyo Convention & Visitors Bureau’s trade and press resources.

On individual posts

Each Hub Day and Transfer Day post includes an “Official Links” section pointing to the relevant hotel, attraction, or tourism board pages directly, rather than reposting their images. If a post uses an official photo, the source, license, and credit will be noted next to it.
